GUEST SPEAKER
Mike Farris is a literary agent with Farris Literary Agency and an entertainment attorney with Vincent Lopez Serafino Jenevein, P.C., in Dallas. Mike represents independent producers and has negotiated sales of movie and television rights to major Hollywood studios. His client Sheldon Russell's mystery novel The Insane Train was named one of the top 6 mysteries of 2010 by Publisher's Weekly. Mike is also a screenwriter, and his feature screenplays The Incident on Ni'ihau and Live From the Boneyard are in the works with Sweet Revenge Entertainment in Beverly Hills; his inspirational family screenplay Reaching Jordan is in development with Advocate Pictures; and his short film Balaam Gimble's Gumption was released last year by Blue Logic Productions. As a book writer, Mike is the author of the non-fiction Call Me Lucky: A Texan in Hollywood, published by the University of Oklahoma Press, and the novels Kanaka Blues and Manifest Intent, both published by Savant Books.
